SKIPTON RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB
Skipton RFC has some of the best rugby facilities in Yorkshire, which is why it often hosts County games, County Cup Finals etc.
Its main first team pitch is bounded by a large seated stand on one side and a large covered standing area on the other side, and these facilities provide comfortable viewing for supporters in addition to aura for players. Additionally, the club has a second full-size pitch and also a floodlit training pitch.
At adult level the club fields three teams each Saturday and ten junior/mini teams each Sunday. The first XV was promoted from Yorkshire Three in 2006/2007 so will be playing Yorkshire Two league rugby in 2007/2008 for the first time since 2003/2004. Facilities are modern and the club has six changing rooms, which were refurbished in 2002.
Social facilities are in a large Clubhouse, which is managed by a full-time Clubhouse Manager. The Clubhouse is hired out for functions and meetings, as well as being the focal point for our own members. Although the club is totally independent, it is located adjacent to the town's main sports centre and this gives us the benefit of large car parking facilities.
Above all, Skipton RFC has a reputation for being a friendly and traditional rugby club and new players of all abilities are always most welcome, as are new supporters and members.
